About
ICED Labs
ICED Labs exists to investigate the infrastructure and ecology connected with the technology deployed within several contexts. ICED Labs investigates failure and impact, and the implications of the actions of organizations, governments and private actors. Currently colocated at the University of Florida, ICED Labs was founded and is convened by Dr. Jasmine McNealy.
Why “labs”?
ICED Labs consists of several projects under one umbrella.

Samuel Arowosafe
Samuel Arowosafe is a graduate student in the College of Journalism and Communications at the University of Florida. Prior to pursuing this degree, he worked for five years as a marketing and communications specialist with a non-profit – Junior Achievement Nigeria. His research focuses on media effects, misinformation/disinformation in Africa, and AI in development communication.
Xiaotong Yu
Xiaotong Yu is currently a Mass Communication master student at University of Florida in research and theory track. Her research focuses on media psychology, media effect, and social media. She is also interested in public policies and AI related topics.
Allie Montiague
Allie Montiague is a computer science undergraduate student in the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering at the University of Florida. Her research focuses on investigating artificial intelligence implications, while maintaining interest in software development and machine learning.
Danielle Arnwine
Danielle Arnwine is a law student at the University of Florida Levin College of Law. She is a member of the Florida Moot Court Team and on the Journal of Technology Law and Policy. She holds a Masters in Public Administration from Florida State University and is interested in data privacy issues.
